after I saw the logo i knew why we had this big zero
we didn't work for it as it's something related to the whole world & cuz it's an international event
the logog shows us how we are so selfish to think that it's something belongs to us,, (by using the three colors of our flag) those colors presents egyptians alone,,, where are the others ??!!!

I must add this,, the last two or three logos are more expressive than the first ones
our logo it about 10 years old or more it's just like farance's & USA's logos,, that are now something like (old fashion) and not accepted any more,, that was a simple thing like a logo,, what about preparing stadums & transportation,,, it's nothing like other's did... in fact we're not qualified from the begining but we can't understand this so far
our economy won't be able to handle such a thing & our ordinary people won't be a good interface to us,, as long as there's (3askary) still asking for tip from tourists for getting photoed & much more like this stupid action, i red that in a blog ,, an american woman been in egypt & the most things that attracted he attention was how people dealed with her & wasn't a pleasent thing
there's a lot to be done before being ready for similar events
u're so right me2...and really yesterday while posting i was abt to say that this logo can be used fe dawry el ahly wel zamalek...it's just sooo Egyptian :S
and aside from that...it's a very poor design...for God's sake it's the World cup...that design is just so poor...no creativity at all..
and yea i remember by that time people were wondering how on earth our economy is gonna handle such event if we won...
i hope any1 learned anything from what happened...really wht were they expecting!
i agree with this logo thing, it's just not too international.
i havent been to egypt but i believe most of pople are nice there. that's not the reason why world cup didn't went to egypt. unfortunatelly egypt has no big sports infastrukture with western standards so they should be built and that cost money. other reason is strictly political, fifa is affraid of terrorism and in egypt it would be very hard to control the situation when milions of people come to watch mathces. so fifa just dodn't want to risk anything and gvae world cup to south africa. similar thing was said in one comment on eurosport tv.
by the way, croatia and hungary joined forces to run for european championship in 2012. i'm affraid we have no chance against italy who has modern infrastrukture and dozens of stadiums. croatia has only 3 and hungary 2 stadiums which are sufficient for such matches.
